Throughout her singing career, Maria Abajan has found immense fulfillment in sharing her knowledge of vocal technique and interpretive insights with young, talented singers.

Her teaching is deeply rooted in the traditions she learned directly from legendary vocal pedagogues—including Rosalia Gulabian, Arrigo Pola, Gina Cigna, and Leone Magiera—as well as the renowned conductors and stage directors she collaborated with on the world's greatest opera stages.

Areas of Instruction

Vocal Technique

Grounding the voice in the classic Italian Bel Canto tradition. Focus on breath support (appoggio), seamless legato, tonal resonance, and preserving vocal health while developing power and agility.

Repertoire & Song

Deep interpretive insights into operatic roles, particularly the Italian repertoire (Verdi, Puccini, Bellini). Coaching is also available for art songs, romances (Schubert, Schumann), and Armenian sacred arias.

Stagecraft

Translating vocal emotion into a compelling physical presence. Learn how to inhabit a character, interact with the set and colleagues, and project confidence and drama to the furthest rows of the opera house.
